DESCRIPTION:In honor of February\, American Heart Month\, the Shelby County Mayor’s Office is hosting “At the Heart of Mindfulness\,” a free lunchtime workshop focused on mindfulness. Research from The American Journal of Cardiology reveals that meditation is linked to lower cardiovascular risk factors\, reducing the incidence of heart attacks and strokes by 88%. It’s time to embrace mindfulness for a healthier heart. \nThe event will be held at the 4th Floor Wellness Center inside the Shelby County Administration Building and will include a short medication\, chair yoga\, a vegan meal to go\, and free blood pressure screenings. \nSeating is limited.
