Mandatory Title VI Annual Training

Under Title VI, Civil Rights Act of 1964, Shelby County Government is required to provide annual training for all employees, contractors and sub-recipients. Shelby County Government is committed to the principles of non-discrimination and strives to ensure that all persons, regardless of race, color, or national origin, are not denied services for programs or activities using Federal and State funds.

The new Title VI mandated training year is July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024. This annual training is required for all employees, including temporary, contractors and sub-recipients. If you attended the Title VI training facilitated by the U.S. Department of Justice, you are still required to complete the Shelby County Government Title VI training.

Note: Full and part-time employees who began working with Shelby County Government on or after July 1, 2023, received the annual training during New Employee Orientation and do not need to watch the training video until July 1, 2024. All temporary employees, irrespective of hire date, must complete the training.
